Winchester High SchoolRDK Engineers has been providing quality MEP engineering consulting services for the Town of Winchester’s for more than a decade. RDK’s largest school project for the town involved a complete upgrade of the HVAC system at Winchester High School. The aging 370,000 square foot high school had most of the original HVAC equipment in operation and RDK focused on improving energy efficiencies and well as occupant comfort and indoor air quality. RDK’s design included new steam boilers and replacement of the original steam absorption chillers with new water cooled chillers. The new, high-efficiency HVAC system provided the high school with a cost effective, low maintenance system that resulted in improved building comfort for staff and students, reduced energy costs, and advanced controllable thermostats for effective management of the general climate within the building. |
