CBS Scene RestaurantThe new 15,000 square foot CBS Scene Restaurant, located at Patriot Place adjacent to Gillette Stadium, was designed by the Cambridge Seven/RDK team to be a unique, next-generation dining venue aimed at providing its guests with the full entertainment experience. Diners can watch any program CBS has ever made on one of the individual high-definition flat-screen monitors at every table, or catch a live broadcast on one of the 135 plasma, LCD and graphic projector displays throughout the restaurant. An additional 36 x 17 foot outdoor digital monitor is available to patrons as well. RDK designed the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and telecommunications systems for the high-tech facility. Systems included kitchen hood and fans, a grease waste collection system, venting for ovens, a new gas-fired direct expansion rooftop unit, toilet exhaust system, ductwork distribution to seating areas, lighting, fire alarm devices, and a high-speed backbone for telephone and internet connectivity, all essential elements in a functioning restaurant. Due to the intensive technology at the complex, RDK also designed a sophisticated server and data center on site to support the audio visual requirements of the restaurant. The facility, including a restaurant, two bars, private function space, broadcast facility, and a retail store was completed on an aggressive schedule that required close coordination with the design team and contractors in order to meet the highly publicized grand opening date. |
