St. Paul Crossing is a new 69,000 SF condominium complex in Brookline, MA with 12 multi-level townhouses and 37 condominium apartments.
Design of the MEP/FP infrastructure for the complex was challenging because the buildings differ in height from four to six stories, and feature 32 different unit types. Unit layouts differ substantially from floor-to-floor, requiring extensive coordination with the architect in regard to placement of vertical shafts for building systems.
RDK designed HVAC, hot and cold water, normal and emergency power, lighting, and fire sprinkler systems for the complex, as well as a ventilation system for the building's underground garage and flues vented to the roof for units with gas fireplaces.
Value Engineering principles were incorporated into the project to develop the most economical design.
