Newbridge on the Charles is a new $485M, 162-acre multigenerational campus located on the Charles River in Dedham, MA. With nearly 1 million SF of senior living facilities, it is one of the largest continuing care retirement communities in the United States. RDK designed all MEP/FP systems for the complex’s residential, healthcare, and administrative buildings, including 256 units of cottage, villa, and apartment residences; a 91-unit assisted living complex; a 270,600 SF, 268-bed healthcare center; an underground parking garage; and a community center with numerous amenities including 3 dining rooms, 2 restaurants, a convenience store, a bank, and a fitness and aquatic center. Among the many sustainable systems integrated into design of the campus is a 400+ well hybrid geothermal energy system for heating and cooling.
