Historic Hingham Shipyard, until recently a dilapidated 130-acre “brownfields” site that had stood abandoned for years, is today being transformed into an upscale “lifestyle” waterfront community, with multiple residential buildings, retail stores, restaurants and other amenities. RDK is designing building systems for two of the Shipyard’s developers, Roseland Properties and Samuels & Associates. The Roseland development, designed by BartonPartners, includes 150 three & four-story luxury townhouses totaling over 177,000 SF, as well as a national-award-winning clubhouse with a pool and other fitness and recreational facilities. The Samuels & Associates residential/retail development, named The Launch, is designed by DiMella Shaffer and includes 90+ waterfront condominium units in three buildings, each with retail space and parking on the ground floor.
