The Lindy Boggs Medical Center, which has served the health care needs of the New Orleans community since the 1920's, suffered significant damage from Hurricane Katrina in August 2005. Crawford & Company, one of the world's largest claims management firms, and the John Hardy Group, which specializes in post-disaster remediation management, contracted RDK to conduct an evaluation of MEP/FP systems at this 7-building, 400,000 SF medical complex. Working in hazardous environmental conditions, the RDK team assessed the requirements and costs for restoring the center's critical building systems infrastructure.
