Hospital building systems have become increasingly complex and costly to construct and operate. Their reliable, efficient performance is vital to both the health of patients and staff and to containing skyrocketing healthcare costs. Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center retained RDK to commission critical building systems for a $207 Million expansion/renovation of their state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment complex, to assure that performance requirements for the systems were met. Commissioning involved over 467,000 SF of new construction and 350,000 SF of renovation, including a new ambulatory care facility, diagnostic & treatment facility, new emergency department, expanded OR's, an expanded laboratory for the cancer center, and a new central utilities plant.
