This 22-story state office tower recently underwent a $190 million redevelopment. Virtually every building system was upgraded or replaced to eliminate former environmental concerns as well as to meet the needs of today's technology-intensive offices.
RDK developed MEP/FP and telecommunications systems designs for fit-up of 254,400 SF of state agency space in the completed renovated building. The programming phase of the project was particularly intensive, because multiple agencies with widely varying requirements were to occupy the space. Specialized security systems, state IT standards compliance, and "Green" features such as energy efficient lighting were among the many considerations that needed to be incorporated into RDK's designs. Flexibility was also an important criteria, so that systems would be able to accommodate changing uses and space configurations over time.
RDK completed the project on a fast-track 20 month schedule.
