Worcester State College's newest residence hall is a $32M, 106,500 SF facility housing 348 students in modern, comfortable suites, each with a kitchen, individual bathrooms, bedrooms, and a common room. RDK provided MEP/FP and tel/data systems designs for the 6-story complex, which also includes multiple student lounges, a coffee shop, community rooms, main kitchen facility, central mailroom, laundry area, an RD apartment, and campus police station. Energy analyses completed by RDK identified potential energy savings alternatives for incorporation into the building systems design. Final designs include a number of "green"/sustainable features, such as energy-conserving enthalpy heat exchangers that significantly reduce the cost of heating and cooling the complex.
