RDK Engineers designed building systems for this new, $30-million facility for MEDITECH, a leading developer of health care software/information systems.
Located on a 15-acre waterfront site in Fall River, the 120,000 SF, 4-story building was designed to incorporate a number of sustainable features, such as daylight harvesting and a computer-controlled shade system on the south-facing glass facade that automatically raises or lowers blinds in response to the amount of sunlight received. The designs achieved a 27% energy saving over code requirements, resulting in a substantial rebate from the local utility.
