RDK designed all MEP/FP systems, as well as specialized tel/data systems, for a $56M renovation/expansion of three schools for the Town of Medfield. The project, which totaled 225,00 SF of renovations and 150,000 SF of additions to a high school, middle school, and elementary school, also involved construction of a new 1000 seat auditorium complex. The complex, which is accessible from both the middle school and the high school, is designed to be used as a performing arts center for the schools, and also as a meeting facility for the entire Medfield community. Work on each of the buildings required multiple phasing to allow them to remain occupied safely, with minimal disruption to normal educational and community operations, since construction occurred during school sessions.
