This new 294,000 SF high school contains more than 70 classrooms, administrative offices, an 800 seat auditorium, cafeteria, distance learning labs, and a TV and radio station. The building features numerous technologically advanced systems, such as:
- A computerized building automation system
- 2 emergency generators (1 for life safety, 1 for operational equipment)
- Stage lighting and sound systems
- Video studio with sophisticated lighting controls
- Energy recovery system
Because of their complexity, the Town retained RDK to commission the building's HVAC, electrical, emergency power, plumbing, and building automation systems, to verify that they performed according to design specifications, and that they met the design intent and goals of the school building committee.
RDK also assisted in procurement and database development for a Computerized Maintenance and Management Program (CMMS) for the new facility featuring web based maintenance management software. Equipment and rooms are bar coded, allowing facilities staff to efficiently access database information using handheld computers.
