As a provider of training services for the AIA's award-winning Continuing Education System, RDK offers several educational seminars as outlined below. Each seminar is registered with the AIA and meets criteria for 1 Learning Unit (LU) and qualifies for 1 hour of Health, Safety, Welfare (HSW) credits.
An Introduction to Air Systems - Design Concepts & Applications for Diffusers, Grilles and Registers
(Program Number AIR101)
Insight as to how Engineers design air system components within workable & livable space, aiming for maximum comfort to building occupants. The objective of this educational program is to teach non-engineers the basic function and operation of air diffusers, grilles, and registers; learning the difference between these systems, where to incorporate them into a building based on function and performance, and why certain systems are used within different areas of the building (for esthetic and acoustical concerns).
An Introduction to Building Commissioning
(Program Number BC1)
An overview of the purpose and objectives of building commissioning, and how it relates to state building code and LEED

requirements. The program will give you valuable insight into the roles and responsibilities of each member of the Commissioning Team, knowledge of what systems are commissioned, the steps of the commissioning process, and the final products.
An Introduction to Communications Technologies - An Overview of High-End Technology Solutions for Today's Building Project
(Program Number CT1)
Learn the insides and out of proper Project Management and Design of Communication Technologies (CT) systems within any building type. Learn why you need to coordinate with the CT Design Engineer upfront, in order to achieve a future-ready CT infrastructure within a building to meet a clients ever changing and specialized technology needs. We will tell you what the requirements are for the CT infrastructure and why the systems need to be incorporated into the building design from the start of the project. We will also give you insight into connectivity solutions and industry trends, spatial solutions, and key master planning and coordination elements that happen between trades, equaling success.
MEP/FP Coordination - The Right Steps for a Successful Project
(Program Number ME1)
Learn the coordination efforts of a project from the proposal stage to completion, including insight into what it takes to coordinate a project successfully, and what key elements are required from an Architect and other Project Team Members to get the job done right. This program also provides you with valuable insight into some win-win project coordination applications and how to avoid some typical project coordination nightmares.
MEP/FP Systems Basics: Understanding the Systems and Designing for Success
(Program Number MEP101)
An introduction to the basic function and operation of MEP/FP systems (for the non-engineer), including the difference between certain systems, what they are, how they operate, and samples of what buildings they are in. You will also learn how to incorporate the systems into the design of a building based on function, performance, clearances, etc., and why certain systems are used within different buildings.
