Plumbing Designer
We are currently searching for a Plumbing Designer to design plumbing systems for various types of facilities in our Boston office.
This position is responsible for providing assistance to senior engineers and project managers in the development of design documents, plans and engineering specifications on a number of concurrent projects. Candidates should have prior relevant experience designing plumbing plans and specifications. Must have knowledge of AutoCAD 2002 or above.
Two to eight years of prior relevant plumbing design experience is required, along with an associates or bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent. Knowledge of relevant codes and standards is a plus.
Construction Administration Engineer
We are currently seeking a Construction Administration Engineer based at our Boston office. The candidate selected will administer multiple construction contracts on behalf of the owner/architect and review contractor?s work on the design plans and specifications prepared by RDK. Conduct site visits at intervals appropriate to the various stages of construction to determine if the Contractor?s work is proceeding on schedule. More than 80 ? 100% of time will be spent at a Smithfield, Rhode Island project. Keep appropriate personnel informed of the progress. Interact professionally with those associated with the project, ranging from building owners to laborers.
Candidates will also review MEP documents, evaluate and determine equipment and materials proposed by the contractor, review shop drawings, conduct inspections, recommend change orders, attend meetings, and solve standard engineering problems.
BS degree in engineering and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in consulting engineering field. Must have a thorough understanding of electrical, plumbing and HVAC/mechanical engineering disciplines along with building code knowledge. Must have at least 4 years of construction administration experience in the architectural or engineering industry along with outstanding negotiation, communication, and decision making skills. Candidates should also be proficient in the operation of computer systems including Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and AutoCAD 2002 or higher.
HVAC Designer
This position is responsible for providing assistance to senior engineers and project managers in the development of design documents, plans and engineering specifications on a number of concurrent projects. Candidates must have prior relevant experience designing HVAC systems for commercial, hospitality or other facility types. Experience in documents preparation and construction cost estimating is essential. Must have knowledge of AutoCAD 2002 or above. Will also specify engineering systems from catalogs or CAD systems.
2-8 years of prior relevant facility design experience is required, along with an associates degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. Note that facility design experience should be in the architectural or building design field, and include developing plans and engineering specifications in the HVAC specialty area.
Electrical Co-op
The basic function of the Electrical Co-op position is to assist engineers, administrative staff and designers in the production of plans and specifications on a number of concurrent engineering projects in our Boston office. Position can be full or part-time.
Primary responsibility is to use AutoCAD to transfer engineering design information from marked-up drawings to CAD files under the direction of a designer, engineer, or senior engineer. Other duties could include copying drawings and prepariing for transmittal, may assist staff when conducting field surveys of existing conditions, cutting/trimming of plans, blueprint making, photocopying, plotting, scanning, packaging and mailing which may be required from time to time.
Candidates must have prior experience with AutoCAD 2002 or above. Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
