Our Values

Meeting our clients' needs is the reason we exist as a company. That's why we are more than client focused: we are client centered. The organizational structure we've developed, comprised of multi-disciplined "team studios", each with a comprehensive understanding of the needs of the particular client groups they serve and the specialized expertise to meet them, reflects our "client-centric" business philosophy.

We value the ideas, opinions and insights of our colleagues. We strive on every project to foster an open, collaborative environment between all design team members and other parties associated with the project. We also host and actively participate in forums where we can share important lessons we've learned on those projects with our design team partners, clients and professional colleagues.

We work together. We also have fun together, learn from each other, take pride in our shared history and accomplishments and plan for the future that we envision together for our company. We know that together we can do more and be more.

We're proud to be engineers. We are especially proud of our achievements in advancing the state-of-art in our profession, as a company and as design team members on projects like Boston's Leonard P. Zakim Bridge, selected by the American Council of Engineering Companies to receive their 2003 National Grand Award for Engineering Excellence, and by the American Society of Civil Engineers as the Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement of 2004. We're also helping to develop tomorrow's engineers through our active intern programs and our extensive staff education programs.

Quality is not something that can be added on - it must be built in. It's the foundation of our entire organization. We don't just talk about quality - we invest in it. Our Chief Engineers, who assure the quality of work in each of our disciplines, our extensive training programs, and our ISO 9001 2000 compliance program, are all evidence of our investment in building quality engineering into every project we do.

Trust depends on having your expectations consistently met. Our clients know they can consistently expect thoughtful design, high quality engineering and responsive service from RDK, because our organizational structure and systems were developed specifically to deliver consistency they can depend on.

We're thankful for all we have been given in our lives. We eagerly work together to support numerous community and charitable organizations, like the Lawrence Boys and Girls Club, Globe Santa, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the Joslin Diabetes Center, and National Multiple Sclerosis Society, so that others may share in our health and happiness.

RDK began as a family-owned firm. A strong appreciation for the importance of families - our own and those of our co-workers, clients, and colleagues - remains a fundamental value we strive to support in our company today.

We believe in passing on to our children a planet that is as rich in natural beauty and resources as that on which we were born. RDK's strong commitment to global sustainability is evidenced by the fact that 18% of our staff members are  LEED Accredited Professionals, knowledgeable in state-of-the art "Green Design" principles. It's also part of the way we do business everyday, from the products we buy to those we recycle.
