
Fox Hill Senior Living CampusThe new Fox Hill Senior Living Community in Bethesda, Maryland is a 643,210 square foot campus community comprised of 323-unit continuing care retirement community. Developed by Sunrise Development, one of the nation's leading senior living developers, the project was designed by RDK Engineers in collaboration with DiMella Shaffer Architects. RDK provided all MEP/FP engineering design, bidding, and construction administration services for the development, which includes a mix of one, two, and three bedroom large independent living apartment units with kitchens and dens/living rooms of varying sizes; fitness facilities, numerous dining venues; meeting/community rooms; and a large presentation theater. The project also includes an above and below grade parking facility for over 300 cars, and large community center with a library, multi-purpose room, dining facility, fitness center with indoor swimming pool, and lounge areas. Additional spaces within the facility include a commercial kitchen, pantry areas, a central plant, and administrative offices. RDK's HVAC system design includes a central heating and cooling plant, which will support the entire facility. Specialized hood exhaust systems were designed within the kitchen area, and the pool area has a dedicated heating and cooling pool unit. Low voltage systems were designed throughout the entire facility and include nurse call, telephone, and paging. Security systems were designed to include CCTV and card access systems. The development provides the residents with all of the amenities required for enjoying their active and vibrant lifestyles. |
