Holyoke Medical Center

Holyoke Hospital

In order to make Holyoke Hospital the regional healthcare center it needed to be, it was essential to upgrade the facility to meet the latest guidelines, increase the size of the operating rooms, add state-of-the-art equipment, expand the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and many other necessary additions and renovations.  Since the original hospital was constructed in 1953, almost the entire building's systems needed to be upgraded.  RDK provided up to date systems including a new emergency generator, a substation, a new fire alarm system, and a new two-story entrance for the Holyoke Medical Center.

RDK Principal, Joe Bonanno said the most challenging part of the project was keeping absolutely everything operational, sanitary and safe while the construction took place.  There was simply no extra space anywhere.  After this project was complete, RDK went back and converted the old operating rooms into cardiac cath labs for Holyoke.  We are proud to be part of a project that offered a community better resources and safer place to heal.
