Women & Infants Hospital Commissioning

Women & Infants Hospital creates healthy futures for women and children around the world with unique research-based programs for newborns and children, and gender-based research and care for women of all ages.  Working on a building in which women and children are provided with state-of-the-art medical care gave the RDK Commissioning team a great deal of motivation.

As the commissioning agent for this project, RDK worked with Women and Infants Hospital to commission all the major systems for this 140,000 square foot addition in Providence, Rhode Island.  The scope of work included LEED commissioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and telecommunication systems, as well as providing re-commissioning services for an existing low voltage system and fire alarm system.  RDK provided all of these services from the design phase through the warranty phase.

Woman and Infants Hospital is the first new hospital construction project in New England to achieve LEED® Gold level certification.
