New England Baptist Hospital Operating Room Expansion by RDK Engineers

New England Baptist Hospital Operating Room Expansion

Due to their increased patient load and the nature of most of their patients being orthopedic cases, it became essential for the New England Baptist Hospital to build a brand new addition for Central Sterile Processing (CSP).  The new CSP area also allows them to expand the hospital by three future operating rooms.  Since the existing Central Sterile Room was decommissioned, the Tsoi Kobus/RDK team included complex phasing in order to bring the new facility online before taking the old one off, all while minimizing impact to medical departments and patients.

RDK was also able to offer higher pressure steam for the medical air systems. Since the new CSP used 100% outside air, RDK was able to customize the heat recovery as well.
