Carolinas HealthCare System Steele Creek Health Pavilion

RDK Engineers teamed with BBH Architects to provide design services for the 28,000 square foot interior up-fit of the Steele Creek HealthPavilion. The Steele Creek facility is a free-standing, full-service, 24/7 Emergency Department as well as a state of the art imaging center. The stand-alone building allows patients in the local Steel Creek Community to have a closer facility for emergency medical services. The Emergency Department and Imaging Center were integrated into the existing three-story medical office building.

RDK worked in conjunction with a separate design team assigned to the first generation shell and core medical office building. This was important because both sections of the building have their own separate systems. It was crucial for the teams to work together to ensure the proper installation of each set of systems. Separate water services, HVAC systems and electrical systems were installed for the Medical Office Building portion and the Emergency Department/Imaging Center portion of the facility.

The team attended physician and nurse staff meetings, facilities management meetings, coordinated with specific hospital equipment vendors and worked with the Carolinas Healthcare System’s materials management team in order to ensure all the needs of the facility were being met.

RDK was proud to work on this advanced medical facility which provides better healthcare for the community.
