Brookline Town Hall

The Building systems within the 80,000 square foot Brookline Town Hall were over 30 years old and they had reached the end of their useful life.  The Town wanted to install new energy efficient systems utilizing “Green” design features.

Teamed with HMFH Architects, RDK provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and telecommunication data engineering systems design services for this $13-million renovation of Brookline’s Town Hall.  Part of the project entailed researching “Green” design features, including wind turbines, photovoltaics, dual flush toilets, waterless urinals, and a water-cooled chiller and cooling tower.

This project also included a new HVAC system.  RDK coordinated with the architect, acoustical engineer, structural engineer, and the building owner to determine acoustical concerns and to implement the most appropriate placement of the HVAC equipment. Work was completed on a tight project schedule, from design to construction administration.

RDK has a long-standing successful work history with the Town of Brookline and was pleased to take part in the renovation of the Town Hall.
