Boston B-2 District Police Station CommissioningYears ago, the site of the former Modern Electroplating plant in Roxbury was considered one of the most contaminated parcels of land in the state. Today, it is the site of a modern police station that, with a little help from RDK’s Commissioning team, is a far cry from the "dungeon" officers used to occupy. As the commissioning agent on the project, RDK worked with the City of Boston to commission all the major systems for the $15 million, 34,500 square foot Boston District B-2 Police station in Dudley Square. The scope of work included LEED commissioning of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems. The facility received LEED Silver certification from the United States Green Building Council, making it the first public safety building in the city to receive such recognition. |
