Augusta Court Facility Commissioning

LEED commissioning services of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for the four-story, 120,000 sf Capital Judicial Center. In addition RDK Engineers, An NV5 Company, performed a comparison analysis for alternative energy return on investment, (ROI) analyzing two different systems for ROI and payback.

The facility combines the Augusta District Court, Kennebec County Superior Court, family court, and includes six separate courtrooms that were previously housed in three different buildings in Augusta. The building also includes an office building for the courts Office of Information Technology and the Administrative Office of the Courts.

LEED for New Construction and Major Renovation 2009 v3 helped this project achieve LEED Gold Certifiation.

RDK also facilitated the building envelope services for this project.

Systems commissioned include: air handlers, boilers, chillers, chilled beams, emergency standby power, elevator recall, energy recovery units, fire alarm, fuel oil system, generator, lighting control and occupancy sensors.
