- about RDK
Since supporting people is at the heart of what we do, RDK extends that support to charitable efforts. From national causes to local endeavors, RDK never underestimates the impact made by giving.
Seven RDKers participated in the 36th Annual Pan Mass Challenge. RDK's team raised over $12,000 dollars, all of which goes directly to the Jimmy Fund to support cancer research at Dana Farber. The team's dedication for the cause spurred training when ice still covered the lakes, leading to impressive teamwork on the day of the event. Despite narrowly avoided wrong-turns and pothole dilemmas, all of RDK's bikers persevered to a successful finish. The PMC's contagious spirit was evidenced at the finish line where family members waited to congratulate their tired bikers.?
On July 19, 2015, a group of RDKers joined hundreds of fellow cyclists on a 28 mile bike ride to support adolescents and young adults battling cancer. Reid’s Ride, established by The Reid Sacco AYA Cancer Alliance, provides critical assistance for AYA research, prognosis, and treatment. The sore muscles of our twelve RDK bikers are a small price for being part of such an incredible initiative.
RDK teamed up with the Boston Scientific headquarters design team, including Boston Scientific, Margulies Perruzzi Architects and Columbia Construction, and participated in the American Heart Association's 2014 Boston Heart Walk. The event took place at the DCR Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade on September 6th. The Heart Walk raised money to fund research and education for heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases.
On June 27, 2014, RDK's Olivia and Ashley participated in Relay for Life, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Teams camped out overnight and took turns walking around a track for 24 hours straight! At the Quincy event alone, the teams raised $86,906.
On April 8, 2014, the RDK Andover office was lucky enough to participate in a Job Shadow Day. RDK hosted two 8th grade girls from the Lawrence Esperanza Academy. Ana and Alondra spent the day in the Andover office shadowing many employees to learn more about different roles within a business and what they may be able to expect in the ‘real world’. ESPERANZA ACADEMY is a tuition-free, independent middle school in the Episcopal tradition welcoming girls of diverse faiths, races and cultures from Lawrence, Massachusetts. Esperanza's mission is to inspire its students to become active learners and responsible global citizens. They empower and prepare their girls to meet challenges with courage, integrity, and respect. We are glad that RDK could be a small piece of this today!
In November 2013, ten RDK women attended the annual Fashion Plates Luncheon and Fashion Show, a fashion fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis, Greater New England Chapter. RDK and employees donated $1,500+ to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Pretty in Pink took on the challenge of walking 39.3 miles in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer 2013 - Boston. They exceeded their required fundraising goal of $5,400 and as a team raised $6,476.30. As a whole, $4 million was raised for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer 2013 - Boston helping to save lives and spread awareness.
RDK sponsored the Lawrence Boys and Girls Club's Halloween party again this year. Three employees attended the event and were guest judges for the kids costume contest. Here's what they had to say. "Thank you for coming to the Halloween party to judge the costumes! We could not have given our Club kids this great party without your support! We are truly appreciative! I hope you had fun! I know how overwhelming it can be walking into a place filled with 400 enthusiastic youngsters! Thanks for taking time out of your schedules to spend it with us!"

“It was an honor to host this group of very special young ladies and share some key lessons about what it means to be strong and courageous. RDK supports important organizations like the Girl Scouts of America because we believe in their positive founding principles for young women and we know that these young scouts are our future leaders."
