Motorola Offices and Critical Labs at CrossPoint

When Motorola decided to consolidate its employees from three different locations to one centralized new space, RDK was selected for their mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services. RDK has been working in the Crosspoint Towers since 2000 and is very familiar with the building systems.  This knowledge of the existing systems was essential to the project team meeting the tight project deadline. Since Motorola’s leases were up in some of their buildings, they needed to move in on time and be able to use the electronic labs in their new space to seamlessly continue operations. RDK designed systems for the essential electronic labs that are used to simulate a whole neighborhood of cable boxes in order to troubleshoot in advance connectivity and usability. Space also included a standby generator, Uniterruptable Power Supply (UPS), and preaction system.

As more scope was added to the project, the schedule was compressed. In order to meet the tight schedule and get the client into their space on time, there had to be a true partnership between all parties involved in the project. The team worked together to make decisions quickly and any changes were addressed immediately. The renovations were staged and completed by function of space so Motorola could move staff and occupy areas once completed. The project was completed on time and Motorola was able to move into their new space without any interruptions to their overall operations. RDK was glad to be part of the team that made Motorola’s transition onto six new floors such a smooth one.
