Boston Coach (LEED SILVER)RDK was hired as part of the ADD Inc design team for the tenant improvements to 23,652 square feet of space for Fidelity Boston Coach’s new headquarters. The LEED Silver space included offices, conference rooms, server room, pantry, new bathrooms and a call center. In order to provide better indoor air quality to the space and to consume less energy, RDK recommended an Underfloor Air Distribution System. Daylighting controls were also designed that adjust based on the amount of natural light entering the building creating an energy savings of up to 40%. Other sustainable features were included into the design such as low water usage fixtures for an annual savings of 126,000 gallons and sensor faucets powered by internal water turbines versus electrical power. Environmental responsibility was central to the client’s philosophy and they continue to spread awareness of green building practices by offering tours of their LEED space. |
