University of New Hampshire Gables Residence Hall

As one of RDK Engineer’s first large Design-Build Projects, the UNH Gables project featured the design and construction of two, six story, suite-style residential housing buildings situated remotely on campus, surrounded by woods, open walk-ways and recreation space, and parking for over 300 vehicles.

As part of a design-build team which included Cutler Associates, RDK provided MEP/FP design services for the two new, 200-bed independent residence halls, each containing a common room, full-size kitchen, and bedrooms with private baths. A Resident Director’s apartment, centralized laundry facility, convenience shop, student lounge and activity areas, and facility management space are also located within each of these 156,592 SF buildings.

RDK was able to participate in the new residence halls providing UNH residents with all of the modern living amenities of home in an apartment-style building on the Durham campus.
