Thayer Academy Performing Arts Center by RDK Engineers

Thayer Academy Performing Arts Center

As one of the largest performing arts centers on Boston's South Shore, Thayer Academy’s Performing Arts Building is a phenomenal facility.

Designed by Eck-MacNeely Architects and RDK Engineers, the $15.8Million Performing Arts and Fine Arts Center project included renovations to the existing 70-year-old Frothingham Hall and design for a new major addition. The performance hall features raised seating for 560 people, dressing rooms, a dance studio, ticket offices, choral practice and ensemble rooms, and administrative spaces.

Knowing how essential lighting and sound are to the performing arts, RDK’s building system design included specialized HVAC, sound, and lighting systems; air conditioning and ventilation designed to mitigate extraneous noise from system operation utilizing vibration and isolation design concepts. RDK is proud to be part of a building that the performing arts students are happy to call home!

      Key Features:

  • Air Conditioning and Heating Plant
